This beginner to intermediate workshop is designed to offer straightforward advice to companies on how they can immediately optimize their website and drive traffic through to it. Using practical, real-life examples we will show you some of the key elements of an organic search engine campaign.  Unlike many courses, and online websites, we will show you the elements which have worked for our clients and generated profits.

The SEO 101 Workshop will look at the major factors which influence a site's position on the major search engines, namely Google and Yahoo! Taking a strategic, proactive approach to Search Engine Optimisation, not a tactical, reactive one, we will look at how your campaign can yield immediate results. 

Here is a breakdown of the modules that we will cover over the course of the day.

Module 1 - Initial Planning

As the old adage goes: fail to plan, plan to fail. An essential part of the process is the initial investigation of both your current business environment and your online marketing environment. We will look at:

  • the key factors which influence your customers and eCustomers
  • how to research your market
  • analyzing your competition

Module 2 - Online Tools

Once we have a clear understanding of the market and the needs of your organization, we will take a look at some of the online tools that are available for you to carry out keyword research. Tools, such as those offered by Google, will help you to refine the work that you carried out in module 1.

Module 3 - Five-step Process

In order to rank highly for your keywords, you will need to know what are the major factors that influence a site's position on the search engines. This section will cover everything from code issues to content and to links. We will explore what you should factor in and what you should leave alone.

The end of this module will focus on how the Long Tail phenomenon could open up opportunities for your business and how you can harness its power. We will look closely at the major drivers for your target audience and, through careful analysis of your market and competitors, develop easily implementable plans.

Module 4 - Analysis and Control

The only way to measure the success of your site is through proper analysis. We will take a look at some of the tools, such as Google Analytics, which will enable your company to ascertain what elements of your SEO plan have worked and which need to be modified.
